Week 11:
The children are becoming experts at recognizing the difference between staccato and legato sounds! They can move accordingly when hearing the change from staccato music to legato music; they can play both types of sounds on their glockenspiels; and they can sing both staccato and legato. Listen to music together this week and invite your child to identify different articulation techniques—and other aspects of the music—that he hears. And don’t forget to practice “Lucy Locket” for our upcoming recital!

- I first started attending Kindermusik classes at the Gateway Foundation with my oldest daughter when she was two years old. All four of my children have now participated in Kindermusik. When my family moved back to Pocatello in 2008, the director of The Gateway Foundation for Theatre and Dance asked if I would like to teach the Kindermusik classes there. I said that I would love to. And I do! Kindermusik combines all of my favorite things-- music, working with young children, and the psychology of learning. I feel very blessed to be able to have a job that I LOVE to go to. I started this blog to show everyone just how great Kindermusik is!
